As we continue our evolution and growth into a leading HCM SaaS technology provider to businesses, we are seeking our next Manager, Onboarding. The Manager, Onboarding is responsible for leading a team that ensures a smooth, structured, and efficient transition for clients across both onboarding and professional services projects. This role oversees onboarding coordinators and project managers, driving consistency, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across all implementation and service engagements.
With a strong focus on project management, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration, this role ensures the successful execution of onboarding and professional services projects, aligns with sales and customer success, and serves as a key escalation point for complex implementation challenges. The Manager, Onboarding, is also deeply involved in pre-sales discussions, contributing to scoping, proposal development, and solution positioning to set clients up for success from the start.
Additionally, this role is responsible for continuously optimizing onboarding and professional services processes, improving project efficiency, and ensuring the effective use of tools such as Inspire Planner (project management) and Salesforce (CRM). A strong understanding of project management methodologies, leadership skills, and a data-driven approach are essential for driving operational excellence and enhancing the overall client experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of onboarding coordinators and project managers, ensuring structured and seamless execution of both onboarding and professional services projects
- Oversee and coach project managers, ensuring that all onboarding and professional services implementations—regardless of size or complexity—are executed effectively, on time, and within scope
- Manage escalations, acting as the primary point of contact for resolving complex client issues and ensuring a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Actively engage in pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, scoping discussions, and proposal development to set accurate onboarding and professional services expectations
- Ensure effective project execution by managing resources, timelines, budgets, and risks to meet milestones and deliverables across all client segments
- Optimize and standardize onboarding and professional services workflows, identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-value for clients
- Oversee and manage project management tools, including Inspire Planner, ensuring proper tracking, reporting, and optimization of project workflows
- Leverage Salesforce to track onboarding and professional services progress, ensuring visibility into key client milestones and seamless data integration across teams
- Monitor team performance against key metrics, conducting regular performance reviews, providing feedback, and implementing accountability measures
- Develop and refine onboarding and professional services frameworks, creating scalable, repeatable best practices that align with client needs and company objectives
- Foster collaboration across teams, ensuring smooth handoffs and ongoing alignment between onboarding, professional services, sales, customer success, and technical teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in project management, onboarding, or professional services within a SaaS or technology-driven environment
- 1-3 years of leadership experience, managing teams responsible for onboarding, implementation, or professional services
- Hands-on experience with Inspire Planner, Salesforce, and other project management tools to drive efficiency and execution
- Strong background in customer onboarding, process optimization, and stakeholder engagement
- Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PMP, etc.) with experience managing multiple onboarding and professional services projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in project management tools, particularly Inspire Planner, and experience leveraging Salesforce for client tracking and reporting
- Strong understanding of onboarding and professional services best practices, implementation strategies, and customer success principles
- Proven ability to manage escalations effectively, resolving complex customer challenges with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Exceptional leadership and coaching abilities, fostering a high-performance team environment and driving continuous improvement
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, ensuring alignment across onboarding, professional services, sales, and customer success
- Data-driven mindset, leveraging key metrics to evaluate onboarding and professional services effectiveness and implement process improvements
- Experience in pre-sales activities, including scoping, proposal development, and solution positioning to support sales initiatives
